The guilt won't be there.

When looking for positives with the current path the Mariners are headed down this year I can quickly think of a few.

The Draft - The Mariners will need to try a little harder if they want to compete with teams like Baltimore, Cleveland, Arizona, and Pittsburgh for the first pick in the 2011 MLB draft. I worry that the Mariners will even manage to find a way to mess this up. We have a history of failure to capture the illusive first pick in a draft, even short term memory fans can probably recall when they managed to punt the 2008 #1 pick to the Nationals, but I haven't heard much about that pick lately, so maybe we are okay.

Summer - Each summer I fight the internal battle of baseball versus real life, when a team falters out of the gate so quickly it makes this decision a little easier. I hope this beautiful summer continues, I can already envision digging trenches around my tent to keep a small percentage of the rain out.

Earwigs - Each year the earwigs flock to my ears, like the salmon flocking like dinosaurs, they never cease to amaze me. I have started to dig out my favorite earwig soup recipes, including ludwig soup, wigwam soup and the delicious classic earwig soup.
